Thoughts of The Day

I am always attracted to the arrogance and negligence. Truthfully, I have no knowledge in the how and why. Although it sounds very eccentric to admit, they were perfect in a way that cannot be depicted in literature. It wasn't very hard to notice that I was filled with infatuation which leads to nowhere, it was very saddening and unfortunate, but surprisingly, I am now grateful and excited that I get to see more of what the world has to offer. However, this time is different, at least by the look of it. Pretty much perfect for someone like me; probably perfect would be very impractical, I'd say ideal. Flawless is not the correct way to describe something or someone because we all know everyone, everything has stains whether we want to believe it or not. I wasn't and will never look for the impeccable because it seems like there will be so many demands. and working twice harder to satisfy is probably necessary. I wasn't paying attention that I am in that situation, trying to maintain balance and keep up with this figure, afraid of failures or mistakes that I'd make, horrified that I am the only taint that'd ruin everything. I do not crave affection or concupiscence, I only need the assurance, attention, and let's not talk about priority because I already know where I'd end up in that long list. It is life but I can't blame it on life because let's face it, it is so absurd and preposterous just by saying it in my head. We haven't even started on the fact that I am a nineteen year old who is still working on her maturity or womanhood or whatever it is you want to call it these days. But I am still nineteen, no matter how hard I try to change myself to be a woman, I can't dominate the life cycle of my age and how it connected to what I desire. Yes, of course I can pretend that I am the most sophisticated, experienced, intelligent, and "developed" human being on this planet. Yet, here I am trying to pursue just a dot of your sensitivity.

Gender Inequality

Aren't you tired? Aren't you just exhausted of being discriminated and looked down upon because you are a woman? It doesn't make sense to me how some people think that women are weak, useless, and good-for-nothing while men are acknowledged as strong, brilliant, and valuable.

One time, a friend of mines snapped at me because I cursed, and he was saying that it's not good for others to hear. Yes, he is right, cursing isn't something that I wanna keep as a habit, but because I was such a stubborn and obnoxious girl, I defended myself by saying, "You guys curse all the time. Why can't I?" Then, he said that it's okay for guys to curse but not girls. At that point, I was confused, speechless, and mad at the same time. Why? What? How? Since when?

I am not talking physical here, but yes, you guys might be stronger and have bigger figures than us. However, that doesn't mean that we are less knowledgeable  or cannot have the same rights as men, right?

It's 2015! Women are well-educated, independent, and determined. We are BOLD, we know what we're doing and what we want to achieve. However, there are still people who underestimate our knowledge and intelligence, and I think it is irrational. You might think I say all of this because I am a female, but no. This problems exist, women have lower salary than men, women aren't trusted to be a leader, women are considered powerless. This needs to change.

I have to say, gender inequality is men's issues too. I just watched Emma Watson's speech for the UN, and I agree with everything she had to say. She really is a role model, and I adore her for her bravery and intelligence to stand up for what is right. Here are a couple of quotes from her that I really love:

"Men don't have the benefits of equality either. We don't often talk about men being in prison by gender stereotype, but I can see that they are... If men don't have to be aggressive in order to be accepted, women won't feel compelled to be submissive. If men don't have to control, women won't have to be controlled. Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong."

"I want men to take up this mental so that their daughters, sisters, and mothers can be free from prejudice. But also, so that their sons have permissions to be vulnerable and human too."

-Emma Watson

New Year Resolutions

A Letter to Myself

It isn't about changing, it's about living. No matter how much you want to change to be a better version of yourself, if that's not the way you want to live then what's the purpose? You know what's the most important part about a new beginning? You can start over, forget the past, look forward for the opportunities that are about to come your way, use them, and don't take advantage of them the way you did in the past years.

It's okay to make mistakes, don't call yourself a failure because mistakes are the best things that can happen to your life. You learn from them, you experienced them, and now you know what to do when the same problems come around.

And please, be grateful for every single thing you have in your life right now, like those fluffy socks you get to wear before you go to sleep, and that small but cute room you get to live in. The simplest things count. Some people might not even have a pair of socks or a room, just don't take anything for granted. You are blessed and you should be thankful.

It's okay to be moody, but it's NOT okay to be moody every single day. Negative aura is never good for your life. It's such an awful way to start your day. You're supposed to be excited and determined every time you wake up in the morning. Change the world. Be creative. Use your talents. I don't believe you don't have any talent because without you even realizing it, everyone is talented. You just have to get to know yourself more!

Be yourself :)
Don't try to please this society because it is insatiable. You can never fulfill its criteria of perfection. But guess what? No one is perfect, your imperfections are the things that make you unique! Stop worrying about what others think because they don't know what you actually go through, they don't understand your pain, your hard work, your struggle, your life. They are nobody. And you, you need to think about yourself more than you think about what others think of you!

Put a lot of efforts into everything you do. Some people are smart because they are smart, some are considered smart because they are diligent and hard working. However, it's better to be smart and hard working at the same time, right? Imagine the outcome you'll get. You will be unstoppable. So, don't belittle every assignments or work you need to do, no matter how small they are. Do your best!

But overall, the past is the past, you should focus on what's about to come <3
