Girls Day Out

Cloud, Jakarta
Have you ever felt like you're so busy at work or at school that you forget about your friends? Or you already have a boyfriend who is with you every single day so you don't have time for your girls anymore?

Girls Day Out

Sometimes I feel so bored and stuck at the same time because my life is so monotone. I am busy with college, home works, making time for my boyfriend, and other things. My girls are also very occupied with their college assignments, group projects, and their personal lives; That's why we barely have time for each other.

Japanese Food

I think that girls day or night out is important for us to do once in a while. We are able to catch up with them, have fun, talk about stupid things without judgment, and forget about our problems for a moment.

Girls Day Out

It's a great way to forget about the "real life" and laugh your heart out when you're with them. You know what I really hate? Some girls literally forget about their close friends just because they already have a boyfriend. I mean, that is so wrong. Who is going to be there when your cute, lovely boyfriend ditch you for some other girl? Or when he realizes that you're way to clingy for him? Your close friends are the ones you will be looking for, and that's not fair for them. You ditch your friends when you have a good time with your boyfriend, then you call them when he breaks your heart.

Balance is very crucial when it comes to relationships, friendships, and occupations. You need to balance everything out so that you won't be stuck in one place and forget about other little things that would spark up your life.

Hope you all find this helpful :)

Would You Rather? - Beauty Edition Tag

Get to know me ?

1. Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

- I'd rather lose all of my palettes and eye shadows because I barely use the on daily basis. Normally, I only put on mascaras and my lip gloss or chapsticks for everyday make up.

2. Would you rather chop off all of your hair or never be able to cut it again?

-This question is pretty extreme. However, I would rather chop off all of my hair and put on a wig until it grows then style it the way I want it to be rather than not to cut it ever again because what if the length is already up to my feet? It'll be very complicated for me to even walk.

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or pink cheek?

- Definitely coral cheek because I think coral is more natural.

4. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or make up?

- Clothes. As much as I love make up, I will always love clothes more.

5. Would you rather apply lipstick for eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

- I'd go with eyeliner for lipstick.

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

-Sephora! That place has more varieties of make up brand, nail polishes, brushes, and even perfumes.

7. Would you rather only use one eye shadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

- Lip color because I barely use lipsticks.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?

- Winter clothes in the summer. The AC better be on though lol
.
9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

- Bright nails.

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip products  or favourite eye products?

- Favourite lip products.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

- Messy Bun!

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

- Never use lip gloss, I'm not really a fan of lip products.

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

- Shave my eyebrows and get them tatted  or something, whatever that's not a sharpie.

14. Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?

- Nail Polish.

How I Handled A Hater

Picture was from here
People will talk, judge, and gossip no matter what, and some girls/guys will hate you for no reason. That is reality, and you cant really do anything about it to stop them. I know it can be tiring to hear some bad things about yourself that is certainly not true spreading around the school like a virus. Some people will also talk crap about you to others so they would stop liking you or being your friends. I have experienced it before where a girl from my school wanted people to hate me so she talked to them behind my back, and accused me for something I didn't do. Seriously, I had no idea what kind of satisfaction did she get? What do you get out of being a hater? After a while, my friends and I figured it out, and we confronted her. Now, who look stupid? Being a bigger person to forgive and forget sometimes can be hard to do. However, that is what we all should do in order to put everything behind us.

1. Ignore them
No matter how difficult and annoying the situation that you're facing, ignore these people who are craving to see you fall. Don't give them the satisfaction to see you stress or upset about it. Hang out with your true friends, and show them that you are happy. If they are trying to separate you from your friends because they're jealous of you and the people you're hanging out with, then you'll know who your true friends are.

2. Kill them with kindness
Don't even play the revenge game or filled yourself with anger because that kind of attitude will turn you into a hater, and you become like them. Trying to explain yourself is also a bad idea. Just say hi to them or good morning like they are your acquaintances. If they talk to you and ask you questions, answer them with confidence and convince them that you aren't scared.

3. Make them as your motivator
You must be doing something very right to make them so jealous of you and your success. Get better in your academic life, and use them as your motivator. They hate you already for who you are, and they will be pleased to see you fall. If you prove them that their behavior towards you won't affect you, they're the ones who will fall to the ground with anger and jealousy.

4. Focus on yourself
The battle is never about you, it's about them dealing with themselves because they're missing something that YOU have. All you gotta do is focus on yourself and don't let them ruin or distract you for whatever it is that you want to achieve.

If their behavior has gone to the point where they bully you, ruin your reputations, accuse you for something you didn't commit, or anything worse, you should seek for help because they need to be stopped. Don't be weak and just accept whatever it is they throw at you; however, don't do the same thing they do to you either because it isn't right. Look for help, don't be afraid because people WILL help you if you ASK.

Be Strong !

A Letter to My Sixteen-Year Old Self

Picture was from here
Dear a smaller version of me,

I remember when you worried so much about college, and you kept asking yourself, "Which college should I go to? Can I do a double major? What major I should be focusing on? Can I live in a dorm instead of living under someone else's roof? Accounting, fashion marketing, graphic design, or hospitality? Should I stay or move to another country?" You were so gullible and naive to think that everything will go smooth just like you planned. Worrying and overthinking were your biggest mistakes and probably, regrets. You basically didn't live in the present, you lived in the future. Honestly, you will be surprised to see where you are right now, how many friends you have, and how happy you are. You shouldn't have put so many pressures on yourself, and think more about the moments you should have been enjoying. However, whatever it is that you have done or thought in the past, makes you who you are today, and I am proud of the person you're becoming.

Remember all those dramas that someone put you in when you were in High School? Well, it'll be a lesson for you not to trust someone so easily. The good thing is that you'll make so many new friends because of that incident. Also, you'll learn to forgive and move on with your life. Some people were jealous of who you are and the people you were surrounded with. They even tried to put you down so many times. All you gotta do is ignore them and enjoy your life with the people who actually care about you more than anything.

You were crying. A lot. Yes, how could I forget that? All those stupid arguments, fights, break ups and make ups make you insane. Your uncle and aunt were right, you might have hated them at the moment because they didn't let you to do whatever it is that teenagers do these days. They did that to protect you from all those bad memories and heart breaks. Now that you're grown and see everything with a different perspective, you will realize that they were right, your parents were right. You were so stubborn to keep everything to yourself and try to make things work while you knew that it's just about time when everything you and him built together will fall apart just like what everyone said. Fortunately, every story has a lesson in it. You will realize that someone better will come around and all you had was not love, it was just attachment because love isn't supposed to make you cry every week and make you feel ashamed of yourself. It should bring you up and make you a better person. You will be scared to the point where you are done hoping for a good guy to come in your life and put all the pieces back to where it should be. You stop expecting things because you realize that expactations always lead to disappointments. Everything happened for a reason, and you should see that you became stronger and wiser as the time past by.

At that moment, you probably thought that China was a bad idea. The cultures and the people annoyed you especially with their ignorant, disrespectful manners. Yes, I still agree that they can be a little hard to deal with, but you will eventually love the country and be interested in the language. Going there for your college was not a bad choice after all. You will meet new people who share the same interest as you, you will see that the country is also filled with foreigners, and some Chinese are actually nice. Don't just judge a book by its cover because what you hear or see at first might not be true. Research, explore, and see it with your own eyes before you believe in anything.

I also wanted to say that everything you had done in the past has made you a strong and independent young woman. All your experiences are either a blessing or a lesson :)

Summer time Well-Spent #Part2

How to make the most of your summer?

Picture was from here

Find A Hobby and Focus on It
What do you like to do in your free time? Activities that make you happy, make you who you are, something that allows you to forget about the time and wonders, "Why did the time fly by so fast?" Think about it for a second. When you figure it out, focus and work on it seriously, but do not stress out about it either. These activities are all about the fun, challenge, and improvement.  If you love to write, try to make short stories at first then make your way up to write a novel, you can even be a full time blogger if you 're serious about it. A hobby is something that you love to do, something you're passionate about. There is a saying, when you love what you do, you don't have to work for the rest of your life. Since you are free in the summer, start thinking about your future, your dreams, and find yourself. Work your way up towards it, and do something that your future self will thank you for today. You love to sing? Go take a singing course or a summer camp for musics. You can also make cover videos on YouTube and hear feedback and advice from other people who share the same interest as you. But remember, social media can be harsh sometimes, don't let it get to you! If you don't start now, when is the right time? Stop procrastinating because it will do you no good.

The most important thing that you guys have to keep in mind is that you have to work really hard to get on top, it won't just happen over night. It take years and years even to master whatever it is that you'd like to do. However, do not give up, research everything, find out what you have to know to be better, accept critics and advice from other people, and make friends/connections (you don't know when you're gonna need them, right?)

You probably think, "It's easy for you to say." No. Trust me, I am a teenager too, I know exactly what it feels like to be lost, to not knowing what I want to do in life because I have a lot of hobbies or I don't have a hobby at all. Even until now, I still haven't gotten it figured out. I am just a confused eighteen year old young girl who is taking International Economics and Trade as her major in a university in China. People would say something like, "Oh, you can be a really good business woman, or an accountant or a finance counselor. Which one will you choose?" My answer would be, "I still don't know what I want to do in life." I don't want to rush into things and stress out about it. I enjoy writing, blogging, taking pictures, and sharing my experiences with all of you. I am still going to blog and do what I love while learning about Economics. There's nothing wrong with that, right? As the time past by, I eventually will realize what I'm really passionate about and just do it with determination.

Spice Up Your Room
I love decorating my bedroom; I usually change my vanity's decorations every now and then. Picking a theme for your room is very important so that you'll know what colors, designs, candles, bed sheet, and pillows that are perfect to be combined together. It is also a great way to start new because your environment influence your mood everyday. We want to make sure that the room is as comfy and nice as possible for you to do activities you love.

Things that you can do to make your bedroom looks different and unique:
1. Change your bed sheets and pillows according to your new theme
2. Choose flowers that suit your room perfectly (the colors of your flowers matter!)
3.Change up your vanity decor and the placement of your things
4. DIY new things to help organize your make up or accessories so they will look presentable as decorations
Good examples of perfect DIYs are here and here
5. Put a glued on wallpaper that match your room theme
6. Create a collage of pictures you love and frame it or just glue them on your wall
7. Display the novels/books you love neatly on your vanity and put a cute decoration top of the pile of books
8. Repaint your room into the color that suit your theme

You can't just get everything perfect in a day, it takes time and hard work. So, don't put pressure on yourself when you can't change your room to be the "glamour" room in a little time because you gotta be patient to figure out the theme, do the DIYs, buy new decorations, and put your things in a different place/order.  Take your time, these changes should be enjoyable and fun to do!

I hope you guys find this post very helpful. Good Luck!

Summer Time Well-Spent #Part 1

How do you make the most of your summer?

Travel The World
I personally love to travel, see new things, try different food, explore other cultures. I don't care if I'm only visiting other cities, as long as I get out of town, I am satisfied. Usually, I save up during my school year so when summer comes, I get to spend my savings by exploring new cities or countries. Not a lot of people would want to spend their savings for this. Some teenagers would rather work a part-time job on their summer vacation. However, I think of it differently, I am going to work for the rest of my life after I finish my bachelor or master degree. So, when I get the opportunity to travel, I will not let it go to waste.

all i knew is now past
Picture was from here

I don't always have the money to travel around the countries, and I don't want to keep asking my parents for money like a spoiled, little girl. When I was in Philadelphia, US, I worked in a grocery shop every weekends so my parents don't have to give me allowance. They didn't want me to work at first because they thought that if I work, I would ditch my school works and assignments. In reality, I know what to prioritized and school always comes first. I got a pretty good amount of money every weekend so I saved them up for my personal needs and to travel with my friends. I went to New York, Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Virginia, New Jersey, and Delaware. I know it's only within the country, but I have already seen a lot of differences in each city. Even though, Philadelphia and New York is only two hours drive, but the environment, accents, behavior, and expenses level are so distinctive.

Learn New Languages
Studying and getting to know other languages isn't just fun to do, it is also an investment for your future. There are a lot of companies who need people who can speak a couple of different languages to be a translator, and they will pay you a big amount of money. To be honest, it's not even just about the money and careers, it's also about new experiences and being productive in your free time.

Unfortunately, it can be a little frustrating sometimes when you try to learn the grammar or the accent of each language. Others will make fun of you, but don't let it get to you. Just like what people always say, "Practice makes better." When I first came to the United States, my English was horrible. My classmates used to make fun of my Indonesian accent when I talked in front of class. I realized that even until now, I still need to practice and improve my English, especially the grammar. That's why I often read other people's blogs to find new vocabularies and learn from my mistakes. After three years in America and finished my high school education, I decided to go to China to get my Bachelor's Degree while learning Chinese language. I have to say that Chinese is way harder than English because they have different tone for every word. I have been there for approximately five months and I am still not good at it. However, I won't just give up and stop learning because I really want to be able to speak at least three different languages.

Good Luck!

Indonesian Food

These are some of the food I have tried when I was in Bali with my friends. Indonesian cuisines are known for their spiciness and special, traditional ingredients. They have unique taste, smell, and flavor. The appearance of the food itself might not look very appealing, but once you try it, you will not stop eating it, trust me.

Nasi Pedas Ibu Andika. The picture on top is known for its spice. If you cannot eat spicy food, I would not recommend this one. When we were there, one of my friends who is from Germany couldn't deal with the hotness and spiciness of the food. He finished his cold water in a split second; He even bought a Popsicle to cool down his tongue.

Nasi Campur Bali. I love this one specific food on the top because it's just a mixture of everything. If you cannot decide what to eat because there are so many options, this particular food is perfect for you. It has chicken, spicy beef , Indonesian traditional salad and chips, nuts, and satay with rice. You can try a little bit of everything, and let me tell you, the portion of this food is pretty big.

BALI

When I was a kid I always wanted to travel the world with my loved ones. The thought of just being away for awhile, see new things, and enjoy every moment of it relieve my mind. I don't mind traveling around my home country because I truthfully believe that there are always different, new things to learn everywhere I go. Traveling around the world is always going to be my biggest dream. Being able to witness how beautiful the world really is and to feel free are also good therapies for our souls.

I am so blessed to be able to spent my summer vacation in Bali with my friends. The beaches were absolutely stunning and beautiful. We lived in Sun Island Hotel near Kuta beach. I love the hotel because it was very easy for us to go every where and find different types of foods. It literally only took us about five minutes to go to the nearest beach by foot.

This is a picture of a restaurant near my hotel. The place was facing the beach so we can watch the sunset and the sea. We went there for a couple of drinks and snacks, they also have shisha/hookah there for those of you who love it.

These are a couple pictures of Pandawa Beach. The beach was so clear and blue; it was perfect for taking pictures.

This place is called Rock Bar and it was located in Seminyak. It's basically a bar on top of big rocks near the beach. I cannot even describe how beautiful it was. The only downside is that you have to be there before 3 pm because if not you won't be able to see the sunset. The line was so long, if you don't come early, you won't get a good spot. The bar is down near the beach so to get there we had to take this cute, little outdoor elevator. It was definitely a unique place.

The beach near Rock Bar.

These pictures are Jimbaran beach. We went to eat seafood there while watching the sunset. It was great to have dinner there with some friends, we can feel the breeze and enjoy the view.

Potato Head was also a great place to visit especially at night. It opens until 2 AM and you can chill there having a couple of drinks and enjoy the beach. The place was modern and comfy. You can just sit by the bar if you want or you can have the couches near the pool.

Bali is the number one place you want to visit when you travel to Indonesia. The beaches are beautiful; there are also great chiling places to catch up with friends. Not only that, bars and nightclubs there are very modern and filled with diverse nationalities.
